Welcome to Mission Beach
Where the privacy of a suburban area and the endless activities of an urban area meet
Founded in 1914, Mission Beach was one of the more recent communities to be built in San Diego, California. At the time, it was just a sandbar squeezed between Mission Bay and the Pacific Ocean that was hard to sell due to its narrow lots. But thanks to the community's founders, a concrete sea wall was built in a few years, and the Mission Beach Amusement Center was introduced. It would be right at the center of what locals now call Belmont Park.
In no time, the population increased as more residents recognized the luxurious beauty of living here. Not only does the sun shine down on Mission Beach most of the year, but the buildings and landmarks are also rich with history and renowned architectural styles and designs. Among the various styles, the most popular are Victorian, American Craftsman, and modern.

Local Lifestyle
The local lifestyle in Mission Beach is a combination of water sports and activities, walks in parks and along the incredible shorelines, and plenty of retail and restaurants both in the area and a short distance away. The most significant benefit of living in Mission Beach is being in the suburbs—meaning there's space between homes and more privacy—with just a short travel to urban activities.
So, hang your hats in your private space and listen to the water sweep the shorelines or go out and take advantage of all the commercial opportunities Mission Beach has to offer. Either way, there's always something for everybody.
